One of Michigan’s biggest book sales returns to Bay City

One of Michigan’s biggest used book sales is back. The Friends of Bay County Libraries will fill the skating rink at the Bay County Civic Arena, located at 4231 Shrestha Drive in Bay City.

The book sale will include thousands of items such as old bestsellers, special interest content, children’s materials, reference sources, magazines, CDs, audiobooks, DVDs and more again. Everything will be grouped by category for convenience of purchase.

The sale is scheduled at the following times: Thursday August 12 from 8 am to 8 pm; Friday August 13 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday August 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.


All of the items have a moving price, with books ranging from 50 cents to $ 2. On Saturdays, all-day customs clearance allows you to fill a box or bag with any item for just $ 4.

New this year, the Bay County Library System will have a booth on Thursdays and Fridays where you can purchase bags of books to transport your finds for just $ 1 and get information on upcoming events and services. Anyone who stops by the kiosk can also enter to win a $ 50 Meijer gift certificate. The winner of the gift card will be contacted to arrange pickup after the draw on Monday August 16.

Additionally, Bay County residents who register with the Bay County Library System Library Card for the first time during the sale will receive a free book bag along with the gift card entry.
