St Brigid’s Credit Union is inviting applications for the position of Finance Officer.

The Finance Officer will be responsible for the overall finance function. This includes overseeing all financial aspects of the credit union and the flow of financial information to the CEO, management team, board and, as needed, to external parties, including the Bank. central.

Main responsibilities of the position:

The position primarily involves financial reporting and the development of a strong ‘internal controls’ framework based on legislative constraints and best practices. Additionally, you will help support the analysis and modeling of the business throughout its ongoing strategic evolution and you will assist the CEO in providing financial leadership and guidance to the Board and Executive Group.

While the Finance Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function, he/she will support leadership for the financial health of the credit union, identifying issues that impact financial performance and anticipating impacts potential futures, developing mitigation measures to address them. problems as they arise.

Main responsibilities:

– Report directly to the CEO and be a strong positive contributor to management

– Assist in the development and implementation of the credit union’s strategic plan and the achievement of business objectives.

– Manage the entire financial function of the credit union, including the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and the analysis of financial information.

– General manager of budget control and forecasts.

– Communicate all financial information to the CEO, management team, board of directors and external stakeholders.

– Preparation and submission of regulatory declarations.

– Develop and maintain an effective and high quality system of internal control and reporting.

– Develop metrics/KPIs to measure and report on overall Credit Union performance.

– Investment review, including portfolio reporting and decision making with CEO, Investment Committee, Board and external bodies.

– Continuous improvement – identification of opportunities to improve analysis and reporting and implementation of efficiency models

– Responsible for payroll management and all related processes

– Overall responsibility for controls and compliance of accounts, EFT, cash and cash management and bank reconciliations. Ensure that all legal requirements are met.

– Support the work of the Risk Management Officer and DP, Compliance Officer, MLRO and Internal Auditor as appropriate

– Support the management team to meet the financial requirements of growth and cost management.

– Liaise with key stakeholders such as auditors and Central Bank and ensure timely completion of declarations.

The successful candidate must have the following:

– Professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a financial management role, preferably in financial services

– Well-established financial and commercial acuity.

– A thorough understanding of credit union rules and regulations

– Ability to plan/forecast, budget, design financial models and oversee the implementation of financial strategies

– Excellent report writing and presentation skills

– Excellent administrative, organizational and business support skills

– Ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure

– Excellent interpersonal, communication skills

– Appropriate attention to detail, to ensure that the Caisse populaire fulfills its responsibilities as a regulated entity

– Mastery of ICT skills in various applications.

– Own driver’s license and own transportation essential as the role requires travel between branches and to other locations.
