The original Dodge Challenger debuted 50 years ago and given Dodge’s reverence for its own muscle car history, there’s no chance this step will go unnoticed. So we have the 2020 Dodge challenger 50th Anniversary Edition, which commemorates the anniversary of Dodge’s muscle car with a special package available on several Challenger models.
The Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition Pack is available on Challenger GT (RWD only), Challenger R / T Shaker, Challenger R / T Scat Pack Shaker and Challenger R / T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody.
V6 and V8 power available
Engine choices and outputs are unchanged with the 50th Anniversary Pack. The GT uses a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing 303 horsepower. The R / T Shaker is equipped with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 producing 375 horsepower (6-speed manual) or 372 horsepower (8-speed automatic). The Scat Pack variants get a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 good for 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque.
All models of the 50th Anniversary Edition have a satin black painted hood and a matching roof and trunk lid wrap. The rear spoiler and fuel filler flap are also in satin black and the latter features retro-styled “FUEL” lettering, while the grille is in gloss black. The set also includes a Shaker hood scoop painted in body color for V8 cars. The 20-inch wheels in three available widths have a special gold finish, and the same finish is used on the exterior badge. A new Gold Rush paint color is one of seven shades available, which also include Frostbite, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, TorRed, F8 Green, and Go Mango.
The interior has special touches
Inside, the heated and ventilated seats are upholstered in black nappa leather and Alcantara suede. Contrast sepia stitching is used throughout the cabin and the Berber carpeted floor mats bear the 50th anniversary logo. The dashboard consists of white-faced gauges with yellow accents, is framed in carbon fiber trim, and features a unique boot animation that includes the car from 1970.
Each of the four model variants and seven colors will be produced in a batch of 70 units (referencing the original model year of the Challenger). That makes a total of 1,960 50th anniversary edition cars.
The 50th Anniversary Edition package is priced at $ 4,995 for the GT, $ 5,495 for the R / T Shaker and $ 5,995 for the two Scat Pack models. The package is available to order in December with deliveries in spring 2020.
