Here are the top three stories today at Decatur-Avondale Estates:

  1. The Decatur City Commission approved new electoral districts. City District 2 will now cover more of the downtown area. The new neighborhoods have a difference of 20 people, or a total difference of only 0.16%. The district changes will take effect on January 1. (Decaturish.com)
  2. The town of Avondale Estates has found a new full-time chief financial officer. The city has been using two consultants to manage the workload since March. The new Chief Financial Officer will take over on December 5. The Municipal Board has approved an additional $30,000 for the contractor who will assist with the town’s financial operations in the interim. (Decaturish.com)
  3. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has opened an investigation into a shooting that occurred at a DeKalb County gas station Monday night. The incident happened at the Covington Highway Shell gas station and left one suspect dead and an officer injured. On Monday, the suspect’s identity was not released. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
